Rewire Your Brain and Rewrite Your Life: Taking the Bold Step Out of Old Thinking and into New Possibility.

Feb 12 - 17, 2020

Our Women's Retreat is designed to help you shift out of old ways of thinking and into new ways of being. Each day is spent exploring a specific theme (such as awareness, perception, rewriting, and reframing) through a carefully developed program that integrates yogic practices—pranayama, mantra, chanting, asana, sound healing, and meditation—with neurocoaching, personal development, exploration exercises, and visualization.

Most of the pranayama and mantra meditations come from the Kundalini Yoga tradition, but there will be guided meditation, sound meditation, Yin Yoga practice, and Vinyasa yoga utilized as well.

The retreat is limited to 15 women. This small-group setting allows us to cultivate a culture where we feel safe and supported to connect and share. It also allows for personalized attention and one-on-one time with your teachers, Jenny Arrington and Tait Medina, Ph.D.

During this retreat we intend for you to learn about your patterns of thinking and the neurology behind them, learn how to reframe past memories and overwrite limiting fear thoughts, and identify and connect with a new vision of who you are and how you want to live. Together, we will create a plan for integrating all that you learn into your everyday life.

This retreat is open to all levels. You do not need experience in meditation or in yoga to benefit. Our unique and personalized programming (which includes two preparatory calls) allows us to meet the needs of beginning and advanced practitioners alike.

Location & amenities

The retreat is held at the Imiloa Institute for the Advancement of Humanity located in Dominical, Costa Rica. This 5-star retreat institute, known as the Ritz Carlton of transformation, is in a cloud forest at the top of a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The Imiloa property has been designed with luxury and sustainability in mind. Every effort was made to “tread lightly” on the natural landscape which boasts a diverse ecosystem of animals, plants, and fruit trees coexisting beautifully.

The entire 20+ acres of property plus staff is for our group exclusively. There is a salt water pool that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, a Balinese yoga palapa built into the tree canopy, two natural waterfalls, meditation walking paths, and a private beach just down the mountain.

Food

Our meals are prepared for us onsite by five star Ayurvedic vegan chef, Chef Pedro. Part artist, part chef, part scientist, Chef Pedro prepares each meal to include 22 amino acids. This balance ensures that you to feel nourished and energized throughout the retreat, while the beauty of the locally-sourced plant based cuisine awakens the senses.

All meals are fully vegan so there will be no fish, dairy, or meat. The meals will also be Ayurvedic. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda translates to “science of life”. This philosophy promotes intuitive eating and eating according to your particular constitution, or “dosha”.

If you are curious to learn more, we recommend reading this and taking a dosha quiz here to learn more about your constitution. Jenny Arrington will explain more about Ayurveda in our first group prep call prior to the retreat.

There will also be an opportunity to learn recipes directly from Chef Pedro if you are interested in integrating Ayurvedic vegan cooking when you return home.

Prep calls

There will be two, hour-long group zoom calls in the two weeks prior to the retreat. During these calls you will learn about the neurobiological effects of meditation; the philosophy and science of Ayurveda; and the building blocks of Kundalini Yoga. These calls will help us develop a shared vocabulary so that we can be ready to engage in transformative work together when we arrive in Costa Rica.

Follow-up support

Ongoing support and accountability when you return home is key to integrating  your new awareness, practices, and perspective into your everyday life. To that end, each participant recieves one 30-minute private call with Jenny and one hour-long group zoom call in the weeks following the retreat (included in pricing).

We also encourage you to join one of our class series to help you hone your practice and cultivate a deeper connection to the process. To support this you will receive a promo code that can be used for 10% off one of our class series when you register for the retreat. If you are not in the Chicago-land area this can be used toward a private neurocoaching session with Jenny via zoom.
